Chevy / GMC Juice FAQs

Q: DOES THE JUICE INCREASE EGT’S?
A: With normal driving there is not an increase in EGT’s. When the engine is under higher loads you will see an increase in EGT’s above stock. An EGT gauge is highly recommended.

Q: CAN I TOW IN LEVEL 4 (90 HP)?
A: You can but with the increase of hp, you could see excessive EGT’s and an increased strain on transmission components. Edge recommends you do not tow above level 2 (60 hp).

Q: WILL THE JUICE VOID MY FACTORY WARRANTY?
A: No. The Juice will not void your factory warranty. Under the Magnusson-Moss Warranty- Federal Trade commission Improvement Act of 1975, aftermarket equipment, which improves performance, does not void a vehicle's manufacturer original warranty. (Unless the warranty clearly states the addition of aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicles warranty, or if the aftermarket device is the direct cause of the failure.) The easiest way to check this is to look in your owner’s manual under, “what is not covered.” It is recommended you remove the module before any service work is performed. Leaving the product installed may affect dealer diagnostic analysis and scan tool functions.

Q: WILL THE JUICE RUIN MY TRANSMISSION WITH THE ADDED HORSEPOWER?
A: No. The Juice is programmed to monitor several transmission functions and adjusts power output to help protect the transmission. Hard driving styles or abuse can cause damage to transmission at stock power levels, and the increase in power provided by The Juice could accelerate this.

Q: DOES THE JUICE AFFECT GAS MILEAGE?
A: Yes. Edge has seen, on an average, up to a 10% increase in fuel efficiency. This will vary with your driving style.

Q: HOW DO I GET THE BEST FUEL MILEAGE?
A: Do not change driving habits from normal “good driving mileage” habits. Some find it hard to do with the extra power provided by The Juice.

Q: DOES THE JUICE INCREASE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE?
A: No. Injection pulse width and time of injection are the only things modified by the Juice. The Juice monitors and controls the duration and time of the injection pulse widths to increase horsepower and torque.

Q: DOES THE JUICE REMOVE THE SPEED LIMITER?
A: No. You have to reprogram directly through the ECM to accomplish this task, which the Juice does not do.

Q: DO I HAVE TO SET THE LEVELS AGAIN AFTER REMOVING THE MODULE AND
REINSTALLING IT?

A: No. The settings will remain where you have previously programmed them.

Q: WHAT LEVEL OF EGT IS SAFE TO RUN THE TRUCK AT?
A: It is recommended that EGT’s should not exceed 1350 degrees when the pyrometer is mounted preturbo.
